On October 26-27, the annual XI All-Russian Forum of Regional Informatization “PROF-IT” was held in Novosibirsk. As part of the panel discussion “An integrated approach to working with industry data in the region,” Alexander Biryukov, head of the Laboratory for Clinical Decision Support Based on AI Technologies, made a report on the specifics of medical data and their use in the development of AI systems in MedTech.
Alexander noted that 16% of medical institutions have already implemented AI-based systems, and another 34% plan to do this in the near future. The importance of developing such systems is also emphasized by the decree on the need to implement AI-based systems in the regions.
However, one of the pressing problems remains the collection and labeling of data for training such systems. The most valuable source of such data is medical institutions. In turn, marking also requires the involvement of qualified medical specialists. That is why the Laboratory develops its own solutions for the pathologist’s DPVR and the pediatrician’s and rheumatologist’s DPVR in close cooperation and constant exchange of competencies with specialized medical institutes.
